Subject N°7: Garret
About this shot.
This is another portrait taken in florence. It was a pleasure to talk with Garret and his wife Mystie (that you will see here in the portrait that I'll publish next week). Like the previous portrait I was on the stairs of the Cathedral of Florence when I noticed this couple. I was struck down by two things: the first was that Garret in order to find an interesting point of piew for a photo to a horse was almost lying on the footpath, the second one was that he was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and flip-flop in a day that was not one of the warmest that I spent in Florence.
As I learnt lately, I stood up and I went toward them. I did my usal presentation in italian but when he answered "what?!" I understood that I should have changed my language if wanted to get some results :) As usual I explained my project and then asked for some photos. It was stunning the way he accepted, he was so enthusiast and posed with that big smile you can see in photo. After taking some photos of him and his wife I seized the opportunity to chat a little bit. I find out that they come frome Alaska and this is way they were wearing in that way and they told me also that they're on a trip since 8 months. That's their honeymoon. I ask for an e-mail and Garret gave me a card with their website and the e-mail written above at the moment. When I was at home I visited their site and I found out the beautiful idea they had. There are also all the places where they've been and the ones they have to visit in the near future.
Talking with Mystie and Garret was a real pleasure, one of the things that can brighten up your day.
